Merry Christmas

I would say that Justin and I had a fantastic Christmas together this year. It was our first Christmas as a married couple so we decided that we would spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day together just the two of us (and Emi, of course) and then visit our families between Christmas and New Year's. On Christmas Eve we went to church in a barn...it was cold, but still a wonderful experience and a joyful service. I hope that Quest will do it again next year! After church, we had a lovely dinner of scallops, crab stuffed mushrooms, shrimp cocktail, angel hair pasta with alfredo sauce and a little truffle oil (yum), and an herb and goat cheese souffle. Everything turned out awesome. I was especially happy with the souffle - it was my first time attempting a souffle of any kind and ended up being our favorite dish of the night.

On Christmas Day, we had a relaxing day of opening presents, eating, and watching movies and tv shows. I loved having a day where we got to spend tons of quality time with each other and didn't have to worry about anything else. The day after Christmas we left town to visit our families and have belated Christmases with them. We started with Justin's family and ended with mine. We had a great time visiting everyone. I think some of the highlights would be...
  • a very competitive game of Cranium (girls vs. boys) with Justin's siblings (unfortunately the boys won, but not by much)
  • the food - we had some awesome dinners at my father-in-law's house and at my parent's house
  • helping my parents make raviolis
  • playing board games and hanging out with everyone

Merry Christmas!
