Election Night
How exciting was the election last night? I've never been this excited about an election before. Of course, this is only the 3rd time I have been able to vote for president and in the last two elections the choices were pick the lesser of two evils or vote for a third party candidate...both choices are slightly depressing. But not this year. We finally had an intelligent, inspirational candidate who might really shake things up the next 4 years, and dare I say it, change things. I have to say that after what seemed like two campaigns that went on forever I'm sick of hearing the slogans and catch phrases. Thank goodness it's over! Congratulations to Barack Obama! How cool is it that the US was able to elect an African-American president? And we get to be a part of it! I was glued to the TV last night watching election coverage. Justin and I kept switching between all the news channels, but I think CNN's coverage was the best - they had holograms, people, how do you compete with that?! Plus it was entertaining to watch the guy with the touch screen thing (as parodied by Saturday Night Live)...hilarious. We switched over to the Daily Show's coverage once that came on, so we actually heard that Obama won from Jon Stewart. I guess now we just wait and see what happens. Let's hope that our country can start to dig its way out of all this mess.
